In the wake of Swamp Thing's untimely cancellation, one of the stars thanked the fans for their constant support.Derek Mears, who plays the show's titular character, posted to Twitter the following: "I am sincerely blown away by all the positive responses we’ve received for #SwampThing. Swamp Thing wasn't Mears' first appearance as an on-screen monster, as he played Jason Voorhees in 2009's Friday the 13th reboot. He has also worked as a stuntman on many films. Mears shared the role of Swamp Thing with Andy Bean, who played the character's human incarnation, Alec Holland.

Word of Swamp Thing's cancellation was first mentioned in early June, not long after the show's initial release. No official reason for the cancellation has been confirmed, but DC recently released a statement.

New episodes of Swamp Thing hit DC Universe on Fridays. The show stars Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott and Kevin Durand. The series is executive produced by James Wan, Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear and Len Wiseman.
