As Swamp Thing gets ready for his new series on DC Universe, fans are undoubtedly awaiting the series premiere. Luckily for them, a new photo from series star Virginia Madsen -- who plays Maria Sunderland in the show -- confirms that filming for the season has wrapped.
The photo, uploaded to Madsen's Instagram account, features the first issue of the New 52 Swamp Thing series laying above a black chair back that reads "Maria Sunderland," with both in front of a white wall. Said cover adds a more ominous feel to the photo, as it looks as though Swamp Thing is reaching out to the viewers while rays of sunlight hit the swamp.
Madsen confirms filming has finished for the first season in the description, and even says goodbye to her co-stars until season two begins production. Madsen's followers respond with their own positive words in the comments section.
While Madsen doesn't go into any detail regarding the season, her comments imply that she had fun while filming the series, and has hopes for it getting a second season. Fans might share her sentiment when the show releases on May 31, especially with what the show's first trailer showed.
