After starring in 1982's Swamp Thing, Adrienne Barbeau is returning to the swamp for DC Universe's upcoming live-action series.

In a post on her Twitter account, Barbeau announced she would appear in an unknown capacity on the DCU original series. The first season is currently in the midst of principal photography in North Carolina for a May premiere.

Barbeau starred in a feature film adaptation of the DC Comics character in 1982, which was written and directed by prolific horror filmmaker Wes Craven. Barbeau starred as Alice Cable, an amalgamation of comic book characters Matt Cable and Abigail Arcane who served as a primary love interest to the titular monster.

While the film received a sequel in 1989's The Return of Swamp Thing, Barbeau did not reprise her role, with Abby Arcane introduced instead.

Executive produced by James Wan, Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear and Len Wiseman, Swamp Thing is scheduled to premiere on May 10 on DC Universe. The supernatural horror series stars Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott, Henderson Wade and Kevin Durand.
