Abby Arcane has fallen for the Beast. A new promo for DC Universe's Swamp Thing finds her lying in shallow with the eponymous creature as she provides a voice-over narration.
"Strange things happen out here in the swamp," she intones as the camera zooms in on her. "Sometimes the man of your dreams turns out to be a monster." As the light creeps over her, it illuminates Swamp Thing, who lies beside her. When she opens her eyes to look into the camera, he does as well, but his gaze is only for her.
In DC Comics, Abby Arcane is the main love interest and eventual wife of Alec Holland/Swamp Thing, as well as an empath with command over various psychic abilities. Created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, the character first appeared in 1973's Swamp Thing #3. Crystal Reed will play the character on the DC Universe series.
Executive produced by James Wan, Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear and Len Wiseman, Swamp Thing premieres May 31 on DC Universe.
