During an interview with BBC, former "24" star Kiefer Sutherland revealed that -- while he appreciates his time on the show -- he plans to move onto other things and will not appear in Fox's upcoming spinoff.

Following Fox's confirmation he won't be in the spinoff, Sutherland shared, "'24' is definitely over now for me."

"It's one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given as an actor," he added, "but it's moving on without me, I want to do other things."

"I want to do more television," he concluded. "My experience of '24' was unbelievable, but the main benefit was that it was nice to do something that people actually watched, and that they enjoyed."

The spinoff will feature a young, male operative and a more seasoned female agent. The intent is to launch as a limited-run series, similar to “Live Another Day,” but an earlier report contends there’s a possibility of a longer-term project.
