"Supernatural's" Amy Gumenick Joins "Arrow" Season Two

The season three cast of "Arrow" continues to grow, as EW.com reports that "Supernatural" alum Amy Gumenick has been cast as Carrie Cutter, better known in the DC Comics universe as Cupid. Much like her comic book counterpart, Cupid is "a lethal villainess with a dangerously obsessive crush on The Arrow." The character is expected to appear in the sixth and seventh episode of "Arrow's" second season.

Cupid first appeared in "Green Arrow/Black Canary" #15 in 2009, and was created by none other than current "Arrow" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. In the comics, Carrie Cutter was a special ops soldier that volunteered for an experimental program that would make her fearless. Unfortunately, side effects of the program made her extremely obsessive when it came to falling in love -- and she ended up turning her obsessions to Green Arrow.

"I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan," Kreisberg told EW.com. "When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character."

Gumenick is the latest actor announced in a recent string of "Arrow" castings, including Nolan Funk as Felicity Smoak's hacker ex; Rila Fukushima replacing Devon Aoki as Katana; Matt Ward coming on a Komodo and David Cubitt cast as Manhunter. Other high profile castings include Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom and J.R. Ramirez as Ted Grant/Wildcat.

"Arrow" returns to The CW on October 8.
