The CW has announced that it will not be moving forward with Wayward Sisters, the Supernatural spin-off. The backdoor pilot for Wayward Sisters aired in January and focused on Jody Mills as she embarked on all sorts of adventures with Alex, Claire and more.

Wayward's executive producer, Robert Beren was the first to open up about the show not moving forward, via Twitter. "The CW has decided not to proceed with a series order for Wayward Sisters," he wrote. "Honestly — I’m heartbroken. I’m confused. And, at least for the moment — I’m angry."

Berens went on to say, "Seeing Jody, Donna, Claire, and Alex step it up to icon status, while overseeing the genesis of Patience and Kaia, was an unalloyed joy." He then thanked the Supernatural fandom for all their support and giving them the backdoor pilot a chance.

Executive producer Andrew Dabb also expressed his feelings on social media: "We love these characters, and have spent almost two years trying to make this show a reality on the network...but there are some fights, sometimes, you cannot win."

Dabb also thanked everyone who was a part of the process and added that "these characters will live on."
