One of Supernatural's showrunners, Andrew Dabb, has teased how the show's protagonists, Sam and Dean Winchester, might react to Jack -- the person who killed their mother, Mary -- knowing what they know now.

One of the major themes in the show's final season revolves around choice, free will and divine manipulation, with God stepping in as the fifteenth season's main antagonist against Castiel and the Winchesters. On the show, Jack killed Sam and Dean's mother, so seeing them is an obvious trigger for them. Now, however, with God having pulled the strings for so long, Dabb teases that the brothers may have a different reaction to Jack if they were to see him again -- something he promises they will "deal with down the road."

"I think Dean understands that Jack was manipulated [by God]," Dabb said. "Very clearly what God wanted to happen was Jack kills Mary, [and] the guys get so mad they kill Jack. So whose fault is it really? Is it Jack's fault? Is it God's fault? I'm not saying they're going to excuse Jack from that, but it raises a lot of questions about free will."

Returning Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW for its final season, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert.
