For fans of the series looking to enjoy anime with a similar vibe, here are 10 solid recommendations.

10 Aesthetica Of A Rogue Hero

Akatsuki Ousawa holds a girl in his arms on the poster for Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero

Akatsuki Ousawa was sent to a faraway land to defeat an evil man. He returned to earth victorious and brought along a young girl with him, Miu, who also happened to be his enemy's daughter! In order to protect her identity, she pretends to be his younger sister.

Back on earth, the duo is forced to join the BABEL school where they learn to hone their powers. Now under the scrutiny of the public, can the duo be careful enough about hiding Miu's identity?

9 The Devil Is A Part-Timer

This one is reminiscent of the time Lucifer from Supernatural spent his time on Earth, minus his completely evil plan to destroy the world and rule over whatever's left. The anime, on the other hand, is a lighthearted take on how the Devil himself is forced to adjust to living a human lifestyle, which is especially tough since he is unable to use his powers on this new planet.

Obviously, things go awry when he realizes that he and his evil general aren't alone; the heroine Emilia followed him to Earth in order to vanquish evil, once and for all.

8 Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

This anime was hands down one of the biggest successes of 2019. A lot of its success was attributed to its stunning visuals and its outstanding music, along with how easily it was able to draw in its audience with its emotional content.

Coincidentally, it has a lot in common with Supernatural, too. An older brother whose younger sibling is a demon—remember when Sam had become soulless?—and him going to the ends of the earth to make sure his sibling becomes human again.

7 Seraph Of The End

Those who enjoyed the Winchester bromance are definitely going to love what this anime has to offer. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires now rule the earth, humans are nothing but mere cattle who exist simply to feed vampires. In this world, there are two young boys who were separated during their childhood, and they risk everything that they have in order to be together with each other again.

6 Gabriel Drop Out

Fans who enjoyed the spotlight being on Castiel, especially when Supernatural featured other angels, their lives, as well as the ins-and-outs of Heaven, are going to love this anime. Another commonality between both these shows is how a once determined and rule-following angel, becomes a fallen angel once their ties to earth grow stronger and stronger.

The key difference here, however, is that, with Castiel, it was his love of Dean that bound him to earth, while, with Gabriel, it was her love for video games!

5 Noragami

A confident Yato holding a 5-yen coin (Noragami).

Yato is a relatively unknown god who gets a diminishing amount of believers and offerings with every passing year. His one dream is to become the most popular god among humankind, but he doesn't know how to go about doing this. Quite by chance, he stumbles across a young girl called Hiyori, and he makes a pact with her: he will give her back her soul in exchange for her becoming his partner in crime.

4 Yusibu: I Couldn't Become A Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided To Get A Job

Like many young men his age, Raul Chaser wanted to become the #1 demon chaser of his town, but his dreams were smashed when the Hero Training Program was suspended. He now works as an insignificant employee at an electronics shop. However, everything changes when Fino Bloodstone arrives.

This new coworker of Raul's is none other than the demon's daughter, and this anime details the adventures these two have while adjusting their lives to the human world, as well as falling in love with each other.

3 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

This anime is one of the best recommendations for fans of Supernatural. Both shows feature two young brothers who witness the horrific death of their mother, something which changes their lives forever. They set out on a mission to reverse what happened and make many friends along the way.

His only aim to do so is to become strong enough to one day stand up to his father and defend the lives of the people he loves the most.

1 Dororo

Speaking of deadbeat dads, Dororo can't be far behind. Having been given up by his father as a sacrifice in exchange for plenty of food and rain for his land, Hyakkimaru grows up to be an independent young boy who lives in order to kill demons.
