One would think that with more than 250 episodes under its belt, The CW's Supernatural would be running out of stories. However, with the help of some new (animated) friends, the Winchester brothers aim to prove that's not the case.

Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki took the stage today during the network's upfront presentation to tease plans for the upcoming 13th season, which include an animated crossover with Scooby-Doo. Given that the Winchester family business is hunting monsters, it only makes sense that they might some day cross paths with Mystery Inc.

Entertainment Weekly notes that it's unclear whether only Scooby-Doo will appear animated episode, or if we can also expect Shaggy, Freg, Daphne and Velma.

The Scooby Gang were introduced in 1969 in Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, the classic Saturday-morning cartoon that has spawned scores of spinoffs, and just as many imitators, in the decades since -- not to mention two live-action theatrical films and two live-action TV movies. Scooby-Doo and the other Hanna-Barbera properties are owned by Warner Bros., the parent company of Supernatural producer Warner Bros. Television.

The longest-running show now airing on The CW, Supernatural also stars Misha Collins as Castiel and Mark Sheppard as Crowley.
