After saving a pawnshop owner from an evil, sentient plushie, the store owner bestows Dean with a magical television set. (Super)Naturally, it results in the Winchesters getting sucked into  Scooby and The Gang's animated world. The Impala will drive along the Mystery Machine, and Dean will hit on Daphne. Sam, Dean, and Castiel end up specifically in the 1970 episode of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! “A Night of Fright Is No Delight," but the crossover special aptly titled "ScoobyNatural" doesn't quite follow the original plot line. “It gets pretty dark," Supernatural co-showrunner Andrew Dabb told Entertainment Weekly. “They walk into an old episode of Scooby-Doo, but it may end up being a new episode of Supernatural.”

“There are things you wouldn’t see in a regular Scooby-Doo cartoon," co-showrunner Robert Singer added. That being said, fans can still expect some Scooby-sensibilities: the episode is co-written by What's New, Scooby-Doo? writer/producer James Krieg.

Starring Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Misha Collins as Castiel, Supernatural's 13th season resumes with "ScoobyNatural" Thursday, March 29, at 8pm on the CW.
