Supernatural Knocks On Heaven's Door in Retrospective Trailer

After 15 years, the Winchesters' story will come to a close. In celebration of the upcoming final season, a retrospective Supernatural trailer explores the road so far, from the day their mother Mary died through to God's final assault.

Set to "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," the trailer spends some time recapping the first season, where their journey began. It jumps to Season 4 for the introduction of Castiel, who quickly became an integral member of their team, and also features a special focus on their surrogate father Bobby. "We're the guys who save the world," Sam insists.

The trailer boasts a montage of monster killing, from the Woman in White to vampires and some other otherworldly creatures. It also spotlights some major villains, like Lucifer and the Darkness. A few clips from the gag reel made it in as well.

In the Season 14 finale, Sam and Dean Winchester came to the horrifying realization that the course of their lives had been personally steered by God's whim; every hardship, every tragedy had been crafted by God for his own entertainment. When they pushed back, God retaliated in kind, launching what may well be the end of everything. Heading into Season 15, the Winchesters will have to rail against the Creator himself to find peace at last.

Returning Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW for its final season, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, and Alexander Calvert.
