With fourteen seasons under its belt, The CW's Supernatural is one of the most popular and long-running shows of all time. This has, naturally, led to Supernatural being referenced in a lot of different media, and especially content from Warner Bros. In addition to producing and distributing Supernatural, Warner Bros. owns DC. As such, there have been -- in addition to a few Supernatural comics series -- some references to the beloved series in that publisher's universe.

In this article, we're going to break down some great times the DC universe referenced Supernatural, both in the comics and on TV.

Cullen Row Loves Supernatural

One reference comes in 2013's Batman #18. However in this instance, it's not the Caped Crusader making the reference. Instead, it's one of his sidekicks: Harper Row/Bluebird. In the issue, Bluebird and her brother, Cullen Row, go to visit their father, who is incarcerated in Blackgate Penitentiary. The visit upsets Cullen, so to cheer him up Bluebird reveals she left some of his favorite episodes of Supernatural  on his hard drive. It's a sweet, funny moment between the siblings before Harper promises to be safe and leaves for the night.

The Teen Titans Go Supernatural

Another reference comes in this year's Teen Titans #40. In the issue, the Titans are working on releasing Djinn , who has been trapped inside of her ring. However, Damian Wayne/Robin has a plan: Kill the team and send them to Hell to rescue Djinn from Purgatory. Billy Wu/Roundhouse calls the plan "some straight-up Sam and Dean stuff," which is, of course, a reference to Supernatural's Winchester brothers. The reference here also makes clear Sam and Dean, at least in some way, deal with the occult, too.

The Legends of Tomorrow Visit Supernatural's Set

The most recent reference to Supernatural in the DC universe actually came during an episode of Legends of Tomorrow, which also airs on the CW. During April's "Zari, Not Zari," the Legends went to the set of Supernatural -- where filming is in progress -- in search of a piece of the Loom of Fate. Along the way, they see the Winchester brothers' iconic Impala, and Sara Lance reveals she prefers Dean to Sam.

So far all of the references to Supernatural have indicated the show exists in the DC universe, and that it is, in fact, fictional. As such, Sam and Dean aren't real people in the DC universe; they're characters on a TV show. Still, despite people in the DC universe experiencing things beyond the normal human experience every day, Supernatural as a TV show still seems to be thriving.
