Jeffrey Dean Morgan is returning to Supernatural at last. The Walking Dead star will reprise his role as John Winchester in "Lebanon," the series' 300th episode.

"We're incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character... and a few other surprise guest stars," executive producer Andrew Dabb said in a statement.

John Winchester sacrificed his life to save his son Dean in the Season 2 premiere, though -- as Supernatural fans well know -- Winchesters rarely stay dead on the series. Morgan last appeared on the series in a brief cameo during "All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 2," the Season 2 finale, which aired over a decade ago. Since then, Supernatural has aired aired 12 more seasons; it is currently in the middle of Season 14.

Since his brief but iconic stint on Supernatural, Morgan has appeared in projects like Watchmen, Grey's Anatomy, Texas Rising, Extant, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and more. He currently stars in The Walking Dead as fan-favorite character Negan.

"Lebanon," named after the town in which the Winchester brothers' bunker resides, will air on Thursday, February 7 at 8pm ET.

Airing Thursdays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert.
