Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays John Winchester on Supernatural, hopes his appearance in the landmark 300th episode won't be the last.
“Hopefully they’ll leave it in a place where John could come back again," Morgan told EntertainmentWeekly. “My dream would be to come back and do something in the last year, the last episode, the last couple episodes, whatever, and do a proper little arc.”

Morgan spent two days filming his Supernatural role, but hopes to further John’s development down the line. “It’d be fun to have some time and really dig in," he said. "Maybe [episode 300] won’t be the end of John. Like I always say to everybody: ‘It’s Supernatural, anything can happen.’”
The 300th episode is titled “Lebanon,” which refers to the town where Sam and Dean’s bunker resides. Kurt Fuller, who played the angel Zachariah, will also appear despite his character's death in Season 5.
The Winchester family has rarely been without tragedy. After their mother was killed by a demon, Sam and Dean traveled with their father John, who trained the boys to be hunters. It was John’s disappearance that prompted the brothers to seriously pursue hunting. In the Season 2 premiere, John sacrificed himself to save Dean’s life. Although he died, his spirit made a quick appearance in the Season 2 finale. Morgan has not returned to the show since.
Airing Thursdays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert. “Lebanon” will air on Thursday, February 7.
