Dear #spnfamily , Season 1 @jensenackles and I want you to know that next season, SEASON 15, will be the last season of #supernatural. I am so incredibly grateful for the family that we’ve all built together. I love y’all and am more appreciative of y’all than my meager vocabulary could hope to describe. I’m also typing through tears. So, please forgive me. ‘Til next time. #WinchestersNeverDie
Padalecki had posted an emotional behind the scenes video with Ackles and co-star Misha Collins earlier today, announcing that the next season would be its last and run for 20 episodes.
Since Supernatural's debut in September 2005, the adventures of brothers Sam and Dean Winchester facing the forces of heaven and hell and everything in between has thrilled millions of fans worldwide. Ending its impressive run with 327 episodes, it is already the longest-running sci-fi/fantasy series in American broadcast television history.
Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert. The Season 14 finale airs on Thursday, April 25.
