Production on the season finales for three of The CW's most popular series have been officially postponed to later date this year due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Principal photography on much of the network's programming had been suspended earlier this month due to the global health crisis. While Supernatural producer Jim Michaels had claimed the series finale would be filmed eventually, the network has since confirmed it and the season finales for The Flash and Legacies will be produced once the pandemic subsides.

The announcement comes after reports that some of the suspended productions would not return for the rest of their seasons. The rest of The CW's programming has not confirmed if production will resume as planned -- albeit delayed -- to conclude their own seasons or just begin anew with their next seaons. Fellow CW series Legends of Tomorrow is confirmed to have wrapped filming, with post-production on its season's final episodes continuing at an understandably slower pace.

The move is not one exclusive to The CW, with AMC announcing similarly announcing earlier this week that the planned Season 10 finale to The Walking Dead would be delayed due to the crisis and will air as a special episode later this year.
