Supernatural is set to premiere its fifteenth and final season in October, and will see a certain villain return to the show, as confirmed by the actress who plays her.

Emily Swallow, who played "Amara," also known as "The Darkness," on Supernatural, revealed that she was in Vancouver working on upcoming scenes for the show's last season. Appearing with Rob Benedict, Swallow said it was now time for "Amara to step in and set little pipsqueak brother Chuck straight."

First appearing in the show's eleventh season, the Darkness is a primordial entity that was sealed away by God, and who would later become known through his alter-ego, Chuck Shurley -- and who the Darkness regards as her brother. In the series, she is eventually released by a witch named Rowena and given a human form, later identified as Amara, also becoming a romantic interest for Dean.

Beforehand, the character hadn't appeared in the series since the Season 11 finale, so her reappearance is certainly a surprise. It isn't known at this time how many episodes Amara or the Darkness will be appearing in. For now, the details of her return are being kept under wraps.
