Supernatural will come to a close with its upcoming fifteenth season, and it sounds like series creator Eric Kripke has signed off on the long-running show's conclusion.

"He actually has been told the ending, and he kind of likes it," executive producer Robert Singer revealed at Comic-Con International in San Diego. He added that he and co-showrunner Andrew Dabb planned to have dinner with Kripke the following week.

Kripke launched Supernatural back in 2005. He stepped down as showrunner in 2010, following the Season 5 finale, but continues to serve as an executive consultant on the series. This fall, the show will enter its fifteenth and final season.

In the Season 14 finale, Sam and Dean Winchester came to the horrifying realization that the course of their lives had been personally steered by God's whim; every hardship, every tragedy had been crafted by God for his own entertainment. When they pushed back, God retaliated in kind, launching what may well be the end of everything. Heading into Season 15, the Winchesters will have to rail against the Creator himself to find peace at last.
