An iconic and terrifying DC villain, Magog, is making his way into the Arrowverse cannon via the publisher's Earth-Prime series.

DC announced that infamous supervillain Magog will soon be appearing in the Earth-Prime series, which is set within The CW's Arrowverse. Magog will be featured in the final issue of the six-episode Earth-Prime series, Earth-Prime: Heroe's Twilight. The synopsis reads, "Across time and universes, Magog has been amassing forces to finally free humanity from their dependency on so-called 'heroes.' In his eyes, all they do is bring about pain and destruction everywhere they go, solving no problems and bringing no peace to the world. Magog and his allies plan to change everything and help society bring the Super Hero community to its knees, helping society reach its true potential, once and for all."

Magog was first introduced to DC fans in 1996's Kingdom Come #1 by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. With a name that's as Biblical as his Golden Calf costume design, the character was considered to be more dark and gritty than a number of other ongoing DC projects at the time. In Kingdom Come, Magog kills the Joker after the Joker murders a number of the Daily Planet's staff. Despite his grief, Superman doesn't agree with Magog's actions, although nearly the rest of the world does. With everyone turning their praise toward Magog, Superman goes into exile while the supervillain then upends the world with violence and mayhem.

Each issue of Earth-Prime includes a teaser indicating how Magog is manipulating events behind the scenes and convincing other villains within the Arrowverse to join his cause. The series began with Earth-Prime #1Batwoman, which is on sale now from DC Comics. The issue comes from writers Natalie Abrams, Kelly Larson and Camrus Johnson (who plays Luke Fox/Batwing on The CW's Batwoman); artist Clayton Henry; colorist Marcelo Maiolo; and letterer Tom Napolitano. It features main cover art by Kim Jacinto, as well as a photo variant cover from Nino Muñoz. The final couple of pages of Earth-Prime #1: Batwoman show an imprisoned Clayface being freed by who appears to be Magog, which suggests the villain may have already found his first ally.
