The miniseries is an updated adaptation of the 1940s Superman radio show, which famously featured a serialized story about the Man of Steel defending a Chinese family from violent racists. By exposing and demystifying the Ku Klux Klan's practices, the popular radio show was instrumental in rallying public support against the white supremacist organization.

Written by Gene Luen Yang and illustrated by Gurihiru, Superman Smashes the Klan will be released this May by DC Comics.
