This September, DC reveals the previously untold story of Boy Thunder, Superman's short-lived sidekick.

The story of Boy Thunder begins in Batman/Superman: World's Finest #7, which -- per DC's September 2022 solicitations -- is scheduled to hit comic shops on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The issue is written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Dan Mora, the latter of whom also created the main cover art. It also features variant covers by Joshua Middleton, Pete Woods and Todd Nauck.

Mora's primary cover offers our first look at Boy Thunder, featuring an image of the young superhero in the Batcave alongside Batman and Superman. All three of them are upside down -- though while both Boy Thunder and Supes are in a meditative, cross-legged position, Batsy doesn't appear to be playing along. Meanwhile, Alfred and Robin can be seen looking at the trio from the ground below.

"The untold story of Superman's short-lived sidekick is at last revealed, but what secret connection to one of DC's most timeless tales does this story foreshadow? Only time will tell (that's a clue, folks)," the official solicitation text for World's Finest #7 reads. "The next epic arc in the World's Finest saga begins here!"
