The upcoming release of Superman: Red Son will include an all-new DC Showcase animated short, "Phantom Stranger."

Bruce Timm is helming the project as an executive produce and director. The short is written by Ernie Altbacker, who worked on Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Images from the short released, featuring a first look at the Phantom Stranger himself and Seth.

Set in the 1970s, the story will center around a young woman named Jess. She and her friends attend a party at an old, run down mansion hosted by Seth. When things go awry for Jess and her friends, the Phantom Stranger runs in to save her.

The Phantom Stranger will be voiced by Peter Serafrinowicz. Seth will be voiced by Michael Rosenbaum, who played Smallville's Lex Luthor and provided the vocals for Justice League Unlimited's Wally West/Flash. Natalie Lander, Grey Griffin and Roger Craig Smith will also provide their vocal talents for the project.

Directed by Sam Liu, Superman: Red Son stars Jason Isaacs as Kal-El, Amy Acker as Lois Lane, Diedrich Bader as Lex Luthor, Phil Morris as James Olsen, Phil LaMarr as John Stewart, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, Sasha Roiz as Hal Jordan, Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Paul Williams as Braniac and William Salyers as Joseph Stalin. The film arrives on February 25, 2020.
