Warner Bros. has released a first look at the next DC animated film Superman: Man of Tomorrow, with Darren Criss voicing Clark Kent/Superman and Zachary Quinto voicing Lex Luthor.

The image, which was unveiled by EW, sees Superman and Luthor standing side-by-side in front of a green monitor. Notably, the art style is a departure from the interconnected DC Animated Universe films.

The comic book from which this film takes is namesake -- Superman: The Man of Tomorrow -- launched in 1995 and ran for 16 issues until 1999. During that time, notable creators to work on the title included Roger Stern, Louise Simonson, J.M. DeMatteis, Tom Grummett and Ryan Sook, among others.

While The Man of Tomorrow was simply created as a fifth-week title, the film adaptation will depict the early days of Clark Kent's life as Superman as he balances being an intern at the Daily Planet with saving Metropolis.

Directed by Chris Palmer, Superman: Man of Tomorrow stars Darren Criss as Clark Kent/Superman, Zachary Quinto as Lex Luthor, Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane, Brett Dalton as Lobo, Ryan Hurst as Rudy Jones/Parasite, Ike Aamadi as Martian Manhunter, Neil Flynn as Jonathan Kent and Bellamy Young as Martha Kent. The film arrives on Digital HD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD this summer.
