WARNING: The following contains spoilers for "Heritage," the latest episode of Superman & Lois, which aired Tuesday on The CW.

The CW's Superman & Lois boldly goes where the super-duo has never gone before by exploring their domestic lives and how they raise their kids. The pilot episode saw the Kent family moving back to Smallville and learning that Jordan has Clark’s powers -- something his twin brother Jonathan lacks.

Obviously, this was something Superman & Lois was going to delve deeper into, and Episode 2 delivered on that. While the non-powered Jonathan adjusts to school life in Smallville, Clark takes Jordan to the Fortress of Solitude to learn about his heritage and run some tests. Both father and son are excited about the possibilities but are crushed when they're told that there's no way for Jordan to ever match his father's powers.

And yet, Jordan has already used these superpowers twice, despite being told that his abilities are too weak to manifest. Now, while this could be because these Kryptonian powers are fueled by the sun, something that farm-boy Clark Kent got plenty of growing up but which his son has not, there's another reason that's more likely. Both times Jordan used his powers, his twin brother Jonathan was in danger and close by, but when he was examined by Jor-El in the Fortress of Solitude, he was by himself. With that being the case, it's possible that Jordan's powers do match his father's -- but only when he's with his brother.

While this may seem like a hindrance to the boys, it does match the central theme of the show nicely. Even two episodes in, fans can see that the twins are fiercely protective of each other and constantly watch each other's backs. They might have blowups and arguments -- as is expected from any pair of siblings -- but they're there for each other and obviously care.

This also brings up some potential future drama for the series -- if Jordan's powers are linked to being near his brother, then going back to school with him could spark the very issues Clark and Lois were worried about. The couple is scared about alienating one of the boys, and even if Jonathan does have powers, they may not be on the level of Jordan's.

Of course, only two episodes of Superman & Lois have aired, so there's plenty of time to find out all of the answers, especially since a second season has already been greenlit. And even if the theory doesn't pan out, it’s obviously better for the boys to be together, because not only do the fans get more of the wholesome family bonding they signed up for, but they also handle things better as a team.

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. The series airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
