A promo for "The Best of Smallville," the upcoming fifth episode of Superman & Lois, sees the Stranger (aka Captain Luthor) approach Lois Lane without his disguise.
The promo for Superman & Lois Episode 5 -- which airs Tuesday, March 23 on The CW -- opens during a heated conversation between Clark Kent and his son, Jonathan, who is not adjusting well to life in Smallville, dubbing his father's hometown "my kryptonite." To this, Clark implores Jonathan to give Smallville a little more time.
Shortly thereafter, Luthor walks up to Lois, saying, "Miss Lane, I've been looking for you." Luthor is then seen spying on Lois and Clark in town. "Wherever Lois Lane goes, Superman follows," he says, giving viewers a good look at the scar on his face. The promo concludes on a shot of him firing a large weapon at Supes, who is implicitly flying overhead.
Introduced in Superman & Lois' premiere episode, the Stranger -- as he's been nicknamed by Lois Lane -- is a costumed villain with extensive knowledge on how to beat Superman. The Stranger is actually Captain Luthor, an apparent alternate-reality version of Lex Luthor hailing from Earth-TUD22. Luthor is determined to rid the world of Superman after an evil doppelgänger of the Man of Steel killed Earth-TUD22's version of General Sam Lane before laying waste to the planet itself.

HOME – As Smallville celebrates its first Harvest Festival since Martha’s passing, Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) is reminded what his mother meant to him and learns a lesson that will help him move past her death. Meanwhile, Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) makes a breakthrough in the investigation of Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner). Lastly, Kyle (Erik Valdez) tries to reconnect with Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui), but it seems like he might be falling back into his old ways. Dylan Walsh, Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin also star.
