WARNING: The following contains spoilers for "Heritage," Season 1, Episode 2 of Superman & Lois.

One of the biggest mysteries from the series premiere of Superman & Lois was the identity of its mysterious masked antagonist, simply known as the stranger, revealed to be a Luthor by the episode's end. Now, a new featurette sheds more light on Captain Luthor's origin.

The clip shows him confront the Man of Tomorrow and the military as part of his mission to remove Superman from this Earth. In a quieter moment, Captain Luthor approaches Superman's father-in-law General Sam Lane to get help in defeating Superman. Wolé Parks, who portrays Captain Luthor, notes that his character's powerful exosuit appears perfectly designed to counteract Superman's own incredible abilities, as he battles Superman in Earth's orbit and easily shrugs off small arms fire.
