WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for "Pilot," the series premiere of Superman & Lois.

By the end of the Superman & Lois series premiere, only one of the Super Sons walked away with powers. During a moment of crisis, Jordan Kent manifested strength and invulnerability, as well as heat vision, while his brother Jonathan remained a regular human like his mother Lois.

When "Pilot" picked up, both Jordan and Jonathan were unaware of their father's true identity as Superman. As such, neither of them expected to have superpowers, and they navigated their life as ordinary teen boys. An incident at their grandmother's funeral, however, alerted them to the fact that something had changed.

The incident took place in the Kent family barn, where Lana Lang's daughter Sarah Cushing showed the boys some farming equipment. As they toured the barn, they found the WiFi router, which was emitting a weak signal. In an effort to impress Sarah, Jordan scaled a ladder in an effort to restart it.

As he reached out to press the restart button, Jordan stepped onto a hanging pile of large metal pipes and slipped, falling 30 feet to the ground below. Additionally, his added weight also proved to be too much for the ropes to handle. While the pipes fell, Jonathan tackled Jordan to shield him with his body.

Horrified, Sarah ran to get help. Clark immediately took off for the barn and tossed the pipes aside like they weighed nothing, only to discover both boys virtually unharmed. An EMT later declared they had mild concussions, but were otherwise fine. This unsettled Jordan, who declared, "Something a lot freakier than me happened to us in that barn -- something we're not being told about, and it's up to find out what that is."

And that's exactly what they did. When Lois and Clark went to the bank to discuss Martha's unfinished business there, the boys headed into the barn to search for clues. Jordan laid out his suspicions about their parents, only for Jonathan to attempt to refute them. As they poked around, though, they soon made a startling discovery when they discovered a padlocked room hidden in the floor.

Immediately, the twins pried the door open and descended. In the secret basement, they stumbled across the ship that brought Clark to Earth. Jordan was instantly drawn towards it and, despite Jonathan's protestations, reached out to touch it. The metal rippled beneath his fingers, causing him to flinch, but that didn't deter him. This time, the ship emitted a Kryptonian crystal, which Jordan brandished at his father as soon as he got back to the farm.

When the boys confronted their father, Clark admitted everything to them. He told them that the ship brought him to Earth and that they were half-Kryptonian. Jordan insisted Clark couldn't be Superman, forcing him to reveal his spectacular strength and ability to fly. This further upset Jordan, who accused both his parents of lying to them for years before he stormed off.

Both Lois and Clark automatically assumed Jonathan was the one with powers. After all, he had natural athletic abilities, as proven by the fact he made first-string quarterback as a freshman in high school. However, they couldn't have been more wrong, as they realized later after Jonathan and Jordan attended an explosive Smallville party.

To get away for a little while, Jordan and Jonathan went to a party with Sarah. Jonathan peeled off to let Jordan have some alone time with Sarah, allowing them to exchange stories about Jordan's Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and Sarah's suicide attempt. After they bonded this way, Jordan leaned in for a kiss -- much to Sarah's horror, as her boyfriend Shawn was looking on nearby.

Shawn leapt into action, pulling Jordan away from Sarah and punching him in the face. Realizing his brother was in trouble, Jonathan joined the fray, and suddenly a group was attacking them both. Overpowered, Jonathan and Jordan collapsed to the ground while the other boys continued to attack. Jordan became enraged at the sight of beaten brother and the fury swelled in him, leading him to accidentally unleash a burst of heat vision.

Unable to control his power, Jordan accidentally grazed a barrel fire with his heat vision, causing an explosion that disrupted the fight. In the chaos that followed, no one noticed Jordan was responsible. As Sarah later explained to him, her firefighter father believed a methane pocket had caused it.

Soon after the incident, Clark arrived on the scene and whisked his sons home. "I wasn't sure what happened," Jordan admitted to his parents. "That's why I didn't say anything. All I knew is that when I fell, I felt something come over me. There was a strength I've never had before. I felt in control. I don't know; it's hard to explain."

To ease his fears, both Lois and Clark promised they would help him figure out his new powers. Clark also approached Jordan and spoke to him alone, explaining that -- like his own parents -- he didn't really know what he was doing. However, he swore to make a more concentrated effort to be there for him and his brother moving forward. That, of course, included moving the family the Smallville.

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. The series airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
