The following contains spoilers for Superman & Lois Season 2, Episode 13, "All Is Lost," which aired Tuesday, June 7, on The CW.

Superman & Lois fans were chomping at the bit to see Clark and Jordan Kent team up in Season 2. Jordan had a handle on most of his powers after training with his grandfather Sam Lane, but sadly, the Man of Steel went missing for months before the two could join forces. While his father was in the Riverdale-esque Bizarro World, Jordan was left alone to protect Smallville. It wasn't until Clark returned that the two began to work closer together.

But as great a partnership as Superman and Superboy have formed, there's another parent and child who have emerged as protectors of Smallville throughout the second season. John Henry Irons and his daughter Natalie have had their own heroic adventures. In the process, they've become stronger than the Kents.

Superman & Lois has Nat and Steel as its new Dynamic Duo

Clark and Jordan haven't really done anything of note in the field during Superman & Lois' current season. While it was great seeing Clark teach Jordan to fly in Season 2, Episode 13, "All is Lost," it still feels like he doesn't trust his son. Clark left Jordan at the Kent farm, which backfired when Ally Allston ambushed him. Ally drained most of Clark's powers and left him as a human.

However, their skirmish allowed Steel and Natalie to intervene. Steel tried to use his hammer against Ally, but while she was able to deflect the weapon, she knew that it was best to flee the scene -- suggesting that she didn't want to go up against them. Natalie ended up being even more effective, using her suit's powers to get Clark's heart beating again and saving his life. She had previously stopped evil Lana from the Bizarro World, too, meaning she and her father have made huge impact on the story.

Steel then flew off with Clark to the Department of Defense, while Natalie brought an injured Sam along as well. This was a crowning moment for the father-daughter duo. It assuaged Steel's fears about Natalie jumping into a war machine while proving that she had the confidence and composure to be a hero. Their communication with and support of each other was spot on, leaving Superman & Lois fans hoping that Superman will have a similar relationship with his sons.

Earlier on, Natalie had promised Jordan's brother Jonathan his own super-suit as well. If he takes her up on that offer, Steel will have not one but three charges to work with as Clark recovers. If Steel can mentor Jonathan and Jordan as well as he's worked with Natalie, they'll prove to be capable opponents for Ally and whoever else comes their way in Season 2's final episodes.

Superman & Lois airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET/PT on The CW.
