The following contains spoilers for Superman & Lois Season 2, Episode 12, "Lies That Bind," which aired Tuesday, May 31, on The CW.

In Season 2 of Superman & Lois, Ally Allston's true identity has been quite mysterious. She's led the Inverse Cult, trying to merge the Bizarro World with the mainstream Earth. It caused some to think she might be Granny Goodness, an emissary of Darkseid, and that her pendant's linked to the Anti-Life Equation, while others felt she may even be a remix of Eclipso.

Well, the latest episode confirmed that the most prevalent theory was true, revealing Ally to be a subverted take on Parasite. And make no mistake, while she suffered a major defeat here, it already has led to deadly consequences.

Ally Allston is Parasite in Superman & Lois

Ally unleashed her powers when she flew to Earth, just as Tyler Hoechlin's Kal-El and Tal-Rho were frying her power-pendant with their heat vision in a volcano. Superman had freed his half-brother after Steel and Sam Lane deciphered their power could blow the gem up, but the reunion was soured when Ally dropped in, incensed after merging her two selves.

Tal flew to fight her, but she began removing his essence, proving she was Parasite, as many expected. In the books, she was Alexandra -- the purple Parasite -- while her brother, Alex, was a green. Here, though, Ally was all about dominating as this dictator, draining Tal and becoming stronger. She then flung him away, leading to an aerial battle with Superman after she grabbed the gem.

However, she sucked a portion of his power too, only to be blindsided by Steel's hammer. Steel would stall her, allowing Clark and Tal to finish shattering the pendant, leaving Ally upset.

She grabbed the remnants and went back to her world, but made it clear to her servant, the Evil Lana, that she had a way of still fixing things. It's unclear what she meant, but she immediately went over to suck the life out of their Tal, who ironically betrayed them and helped Superman escape their realm previously.

Ally left his caracass there, smiling, which proved she was embracing a contingency plan. It left fans wondering how she's gearing to fix the pendant, and if maybe draining super-powered beings could patch the gem back together. Given she's been such a vague, problematic villain this season, everything right now's an educated guess.

But what's for certain, is with Clark depowered, as well as Tal, the House of El is most vulnerable. The portal in the mines is still open too, so Ally and her legion can invade whenever they want. But this time, the Man of Steel, and even Jordan, who's powers continue to improve, may not be able to stop her after she's proven her might as Parasite.

Superman & Lois airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET/PT on The CW.
