The following contains spoilers for Action Comics #1051, on sale now from DC Comics.

Superman Clark Kent and Lois Lane may have just spiced up their sex life.

During Action Comics #1051's main story by writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Rafa Sandoval, Clark and Lois' son, Jon Kent, goes into one of his parents' closets looking for board games, but instead finds his father's Warworld outfit on a hanger. It is a very revealing ensemble made with leather straps and chains, but Superman wore it while trying to liberate alien slaves in Action Comics' "Warworld Saga." The issue implies that Superman and Lois have kept the suit for their late night activities, being that the latter rushes to close the closet while saying to Jon, "Heyyyyy hahaha. Were you looking for something, sweetie?"Jon immediately turns red and says to himself, "Ohhhhhhh my God," to which his mother responds, "Remember when you went through your whole thing about personal space? I do."

Though it may now be used in the bedroom, there is a symbolic meaning behind Superman's Warworld outfit. In the "Warworld Saga," the Man of Steel and the Authority traveled to the Mongul-ruled Warworld, but were bested by the villain after learning that the planet was powered by a red solar core, which drains Superman's powers. Weakened, the hero was forced to fight in Warworld's gladiator pits, where he earned himself the name "Un Bahle'na Gahl," or "Unblooded Sword," because he would not go out of his way to strike the other warriors. Superman grew to like the title, and as he freed the slaves of Warworld, it slowly changed from an insult and to a name celebrated.

Since he is back on Earth, Superman has returned to his classic red-and-blue costume for his heroics, while the rest of the Super-Family has gotten new threads. Jon, Superboy/Conner Kent, Supergirl/Kara Zor-El, Steel/Natasha Irons, Super-Man of China/Kong Kenan and Power Girl all don new outfits in Action Comics #1051, ditching the capes for outer jackets. Introduced in the "Warworld Saga," Superman and Lois have adopted twin Phaelosian children, Otho-Ra and Osul-Ra, and the two are given their own super suits in the issue as well.

Superman Must Fight the Deadliest Metallo Ever

However, a major Superman enemy also gets a new look in the issue. In the prior Action Comics #1050, Lex Luthor upgraded Metallo/John Corben using Warworld technology, and is holding Corben's sister hostage so that he kills Superman. With his new enhancements, John can blend into crowds as a normal person again, but shape his machine aspects into deadly weapons when he wishes.

Along with Johnson and Sandoval, across Action Comics #1051's three stories, the anthology issue features the work of writers Dan Jurgens and Leah Williams, artists Lee Weeks and Marguerite Sauvage, colorists Matt Herms and Elizabeth Breitweiser, and letterers Dave Sharpe, Rob Leigh and Becca Carey. Main cover art for the issue is by Dan Mora, with variant cover artwork contributed to by Sandoval, Weeks, Herms, Steve Beach, Brad Anderson, Jorge Fornés, Sergio Davila, Jordi Tarragona, Luis Guerrero, David Nakayama, Jack Herbert, Alex Guimarães and Warren Louw. The issue is on sale now from DC Comics.
