The Injustice: Gods Amongst Us universe is one of the best and most famous alternate DC timelines in recent years. It presented a scenario that many had previously asked themselves, "What if the Justice League took over?" or even more accurately, "What if Superman was a total jerk and decided to take over?"

Whatever the reason for its creation, the timeline gave fans something new—a  Superman who is far from a hero. Not only is he a straight-up dictator but he's also a murderer. Albeit, some character's deaths don't cause fans to shed any tears, if anything they might have had it coming. But others didn't deserve the fates they received and the list of terrible things Superman and his Justice League did is too long for any list but there are some particularly evil acts that the Man of Steel committed.

10  Dropping Atlantis In The Middle Of The Desert

Atlantis Superman Injustice Gods Amongst Us

This is the beginning of Police-State Superman. While Atlantis has always remained neutral in most world events, it is primarily because they are wealthier and more technologically advanced than any other nation. Sow when they feel the need to get involved in the surface world, they tend to not hold back with their punches. But Superman placing Atlantis, the only place Atlanteans have that they can call home, in the middle of the desert, where they can't survive due to a lack of water, places an entire species at risk.

9 Revealing Batman's Secret Identity

Superman Injustice Gods Amongst Us

This is a big one considering how hard Batman has worked to keep his identity secret.. There certain rules that superheroes just know not to break and revealing another's secret identity without his consent is right up there with not killing the innocent. Even though he murdered the Joker and began policing the world, telling the world that Batman is Bruce Wayne proved that Superman was not the same person anymore as it is the most blatant sign that he had crossed a line there was no turning back from.

8 Burning Martian Manhunter Alive

Superman Wonder Woman Martian Manhunter Injustice Gods Amongst Us

Killing the last Martian is nothing to take lightly. J'onn J'onzz was always a voice of reason amongst the Justice League ranks. His unique powers and worldview often allowed him to go toe-to-toe with Superman, especially when one considers they were both the last sons of two dead planets. They had a unique connection no other member in the League could understand, which hits home harder when Superman burns the martian alive with his laser-vision. Although he did it to free Wonder Woman from his physical assault, it's the first of a long list of heroes he eliminates for being on Batman's side.

7 Punching Green Arrow To Death

Superman Green Arrow Injustice Gods Amongst Us

This one hurt because of what Green Arrow represented within the League. While Batman lost the grace of most of the League over the years with his mysterious and distrustful nature, Oliver Queen kept the team honest. He was a human with no powers or fancy gadgets, yet he still saved the day as many times as the rest of the League.

Superman murdering him via several rage-filled punches was a blow that hit home hard. He took out a hero who hurt no-one, who definitely didn't have it coming, and who owned his mistakes,—matter how terrible they were.

6 Killing A Pregnant Black Canary

If killing Green Arrow wasn't enough, Superman also killed Black Cannary, Olliver Queen's wife. She never forgave Superman for what he did to Olliver, even when he asked for forgiveness. During the battle against the Green Lanterns, she shoots him with a kryptonite bullet, just before a Yellow Lantern Ring arrives and gives him the power to remove it. Seeing how she was willing to kill him over Green Arrow, he reciprocates the act back by shooting her with his Laser Vission. What makes it worst, is that Superman knew Black Cannary was pregnant with Green Arrow's child, also making him a remorseless child-killer.

5 Murdering Ganthet And Mogo

Superman Ganthet Mogo Injustice Gods Amongst Us

Ganthet, a Guardian of the Green Lantern Corps, was a voice of reason and leadership amongst the other guardians. He often helped the Justice League and served as their voice amongst the other Guardians of the Universe. Mogo, on the other hand, is a sentient planet and a Green Lantern. When Ganthet saw what superman was doing, he brought the Green Lantern Corps, and Mogo, with him to stop Superman. But the Man of Steel, empowered with a Yellow Lantern Ring, pushed the Guardian and living planet into the sun, where they burn up on entry against the hot ball of gas.

4 Sending Victor Zsasz To Kill Alfred

Victor Zsasz Alfred Injustice Gods Amongst Us

Nothing screams coward and bad guy like setting a murderer loose to do your dirty work. Alfred always expressed his thoughts on Superman's regime, going as far as taking the first Kryptonian Super-Pill invented by Lex Luthor, in order to beat Superman to a pulp at the end of Year One of the Injustice: God's Amongst Us series. So when Superman decides to satiate his desire for revenge by sending Victor Zsasz to kill the butler, as a way of keeping his hands clean, he showed what a perversion of the true Man of Steel he had become.

Amongst the many crimes Superman perpetrated, the one that served as the biggest threat to his regime was the murder of several protesters in costumes as the Joker. 2 Murdering Batwoman

Batwoman Superman Injustice Gods Amongst Us

Throughout the regime, Batwoman served as an important part of the insurgency's success in defying Superman. She fought Regime members while empowered by Luthor's Super-Pill, she served as an important piece in Batman's plans to defeat the organization, and she recruited members to help keep the fight going. Her biggest contribution, however, comes in activating the dimensional transporter that would bring the Justice League of another earth to fight Superman's regime. But at the last minute, Superman killed her with his heat vision just as the machine was activated.

1 Defeating Shazam

Superman Shazam Injustice God's Amongst Us

Throughout the prequel comics to Injustice: God's Amongst Us, Billy Batson follows Superman and works with the Regime. This was due in part to him being young and believing Suprmans lies and manipulations. Of course, Batson also idealized the Justice League, which made him believe that following his heroes would be the right thing. But in the video game, upon hearing Superman's plan to invade and take over the Earth from where Batman pulled the parallel heroes from, Batson speaks out and expresses his doubts. This, along with mentioning Lois's name, causes Superman to become enraged and murder Batson in cold blood by burning two holes through his head with his heat vision. This act is what pushes Flash to finally start fighting for Batman's insurgency.
