The following contains major spoilers for Superman: Son of Kal-El #14, on sale now from DC Comics.

Superman's boyfriend Jay Nakamura gets a new suit and a ring -- a flight ring -- in DC's Superman: Son of Kal-El #14.

Superman: Son of Kal-El #14 comes from writer Tom Taylor, artist Cian Tormey, colorist Federico Blee and letterer Dave Sharpe. In the issue, Superman/Jon Kent and Jay head to the Fortress of Solitude after they decide to team up with the Revolutionaries, Damian Wayne and Dreamer to take down President Bendix. Superman shows his boyfriend a "suit from the future," which he then gives him for the upcoming battle. "They know your Truth mask," Jon tells Jay. "They know Jay Nakamura. They don't know whoever this is. And there's something else I want you to have."

Jon proceeds to pull out a ring -- an action which immediately gets a "I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be on one knee for this" from Jay. Only slightly taken aback, Jon clarifies this is a special ring giving Jay the power to fly. "This is how we get you in faster than they can react," Jon explains.

Superman's Battle Against Bendix

Dressed in his new stylish outfit, Jay manages to break through the shield Bendix has created around Gamorra and uses his powers to dismantle it. Jon, the Revolutionaries, Dreamer and Damian come flying in to offer Jay some support, which then results in a massive battle between the parties.

Created by Taylor and John Timms, Jay Nakamura first appeared in 2021's Superman: Son of Kal-El #2. Initially portrayed as a friend to Jon, the two have formed a romantic relationship over the course of the series. Jay is from Gamorra and, along with running an underground journalism website called the Truth, is equipped with the ability to phase through objects after he was experimented on by Bendix for several months. Dreamer, a key character from the CW's Arrowverse, recently alerted Jon and Jay to Bendix's plan to overtake Gotham City and kill the Justice League when the two visited the Fortress of Solitude in Superman: Son of Kal-El #13.
