The Man of Steel gets a completely different costume that's almost entirely white in a preview for DC's Superman #3.
Revealed by DC at MegaCon Orlando on Mar. 31, 2023, Superman's new costume features a white and red design. One panel shows the Man of Steel with a twisted face after he underwent a body horror transformation caused by Rudy Jones/Parasite in Superman #2, while another panel shows a normal-looking Clark Kent with a red helmet over his head.

In DC's new Superman series by writer Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Jamal Campbell, Lex Luthor is behind bars following the events of Action Comics #1050; however, he's still constantly whispering to Superman from within his prison and Clark has no choice but to listen due to his super-hearing. Capitalizing on his imprisonment, a group of Lex's arch-enemies has begun experimenting on villains such as Rudy, which is how multiple Parasite clones have begun invading Metropolis.
Williamson told CBR in an exclusive "Spoilers of Steel" interview that Superman #3 will lean into both horror and comedy. "Issue #3 is going to be really fun," he said. "Clark gets a new costume just for the issue. Like I was saying, Batman gets all the toys, and I want more Superman toys. It really is Part 3 of this small arc that sets a lot of stuff up, but we're just getting started. There is a lot of cool, fun stuff coming up in this next issue, and you'll see how everything we set in the first issue starts to come together in the third. It's definitely a horror issue, but I think it's funny. I'm a big fan of black humor. I really love Sam Raimi and that kind of stuff. There is definitely a little bit of black humor in the next issue, and it definitely has horror, but it's still Superman, so it's a lot of fun. I love these first three issues. I think these three issues are some of my favorite work I've ever written for DC."
Superman #3 is written by Williamson, features art, cover art and variant cover art by Campbell and additional variant cover art by David Nakayama, Francesco Mattina, Helene Lenoble, Travis Mercer, Danny Miki, Megan Huang and Scott Kolins. The issue releases on April 18, 2023, from DC.
