The following contains spoilers for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3, on sale May 17 from DC Comics.

Escaping from Hell is no small or easy task, but two of DC's biggest heroes manage to do so in a preview for the upcoming Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3.

At the end of Batman/Superman: World's Finest #2, Felix Faust sends Batman, Superman and Billy Batson straight to the "fires of Hell itself" after Faust revealed that he's working for a new master, the Devil Nezha. A preview DC released for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3 finds the three characters stranded in Hell. Notably, Billy's mouth has somehow been removed, seemingly in order to prevent him from saying "Shazam!" and summoning his superhero persona.

As demons quickly approach the heroes, Batman begins to panic while Superman seems to zone out in a trance-like state. It's only for a moment, however, as Superman grabs a batarang and throws it at seemingly nothing, only to then hit an invisible Faust.

Superman reveals that he knew Faust was still around and could transport them out of Hell thanks to his superhearing. "The depravity of your imagination turns my stomach, Faust," Superman says. "But you're a sadist. You'd never torment us without sticking around to revel in the sights and sounds of it all. All I had to do was listen for a fourth heartbeat. Yours." The final moments of the preview show Superman back on Earth, demanding that Faust fixes Billy's mouth and returns things back to how they were.

DC also previously teased that Batman/Superman: World's Finest #4 would see the two heroes have to fight one of their own Justice League allies, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern.
