With Avengers: Endgame out in theaters, the future of superhero cinema seems wide open. So much has happened over the last few years. We have seen tons of superhero teams rise up, with the Avengers, Justice League, X-Men, and X-Force being just a few of them. However, while many superhero teams have appeared on television, a surprisingly small number have made it to theaters.

The teams that have not made it aren't missing in action. Many just haven't been adapted yet. And this is a shame, as many of the characters are quite incredible and memorable in their own right. Would it be better for them to appear on the big screen? Would it be a missed opportunity to leave them missing? It all depends...but, for the sake of speculation, let's talk about which superhero teams should be brought to theaters in live-action!

10 The Teen Titans

Teen Titans's characters (Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg & Robin)

Yes, the Teen Titans appeared in the theatrical film Teen Titans Go To The Movies, but this still counts, as the team has never appeared in any theatrical live-action film. Robin and Cyborg have appeared on the big screen, sure, but Starfire? Raven? Beast Boy? To say nothing of other characters such as Kid Flash, Donna Troy, and Speedy.

The Teen Titans are one of the most prolific teams to ever not get a live-action theatrical film adaption. The possibilities are endless. Deathstroke alone would serve as an incredible villain, one who has already been cast in the DCEU. Trigon could offer some incredible cinematic visuals. In general, there is just so much that can be done in a Teen Titans film. Why doesn't it exist yet?

9 The Great Lakes Avengers

The joke team the Great Lake Avengers are a comedic foil of heroes, who might not be cut out for the superhero business but offer entertainment nonetheless.

With joke characters like Deadpool and Squirrel Girl drawing a ton of attention, the Great Lake Avengers could offer a group of eccentric characters to rival the Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of sheer inanity.

8 Excalibur

With Fox's mutants joining the MCU, it seems like a waste to just keep these characters on the X-Men. The mutants are a wide-spread group of characters with various team affiliations. Take Excalibur, for example. This team, led by Captain Britain, embarked on several European and cosmic adventures over its years. Several of its key members were mutants (Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Summers...)

Excalibur could be a great place to introduce Captain Britain to audiences, offering a British counter to Captain America's patriotism.

7 Alpha Flight

Canada hasn't had a whole lot of superheroes, have they? Enter Alpha Flight, a team of heroes defending the north from all sorts of superhero threats. They have ties to Wolverine. One of their members is a huge Sasquatch.

The best reason to include Alpha Flight? Northstar. Northstar is the first gay superhero in Marvel. His coming out changed comics. The issue where Northstar married was an event of massive proportions. While the MCU still intends on rolling out new LGBTQA superheroes, it seems like a wise idea to bring this gay superhero to the forefront of their film slate.

6 X-Factor

The original five X-Men have all appeared in various films, but never once on the same team at the same time. What an X-Factor film can offer fans is a chance to see every one of the original X-Men working together, as was intended from their inception.

It could only work after the team expands beyond the original members. Should the MCU relaunch the X-Men with the core five X-Men (Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Iceman, and Phoenix), this could be a reunion of the original five members, much like how Avengers: Endgame brought the original six Avengers together once more.

5 The Midnight Sons

Marvel sure has a lot of supernatural superheroes, don't they? Blade, Ghost Rider, Morbius. Wouldn't it be something if all of them just formed a team, along with Werewolf by Night and a few others?

Well, welcome to the Midnight Sons, an alliance of supernatural heroes ready to carve up some of the darkest threats to the Marvel Universe. While there has yet to be a real superhero horror film, this could offer fans eager for something darker something to chew on.

4 Thunderbolts

The Thunderbolts are a team of super villains sent to do some good in the world. While the Suicide Squad has done this concept before, the difference with a Thunderbolts film is that, given the MCU's long history, all these characters can be previously established villains who survived their films (only to return for another chance to do something cool).

This can also be William Hurt's chance to play Red Hulk in a film, leading the charge with his team of "heroes." Maybe even bring Tom Hardy's Venom into the mix, if they reach a deal with Sony.

3 The A-Force

A-Force

For a few years now, an all-female superhero movie has been brought up as a potential future MCU film. An ever-increasing number of female superheroes could team up to fight alongside one another in a film, after all. Captain Marvel's success indicates there is an appetite for the women of Marvel.

So, bring them all together! Make an awesome film that can bring all the ladies together.

2 The Bat Family

Bat-Family and Superman

Batman has become somewhat stale over the last few years. The Nolan trilogy covered Batman as a core, standalone hero. Many following films failed to really capitalize on the appeal of the Dark Knight from there, with Batman vs Superman failing to satisfy audiences and Justice League never drawing in an audience to start with.

So, introduce the Bat Family. There are a multitude of stories that can be told with Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon and the gang. These characters have not appeared on screen in years, let alone as a cohesive unit beyond Batman and Robin. There is so much that can be done with the full Bat Family.

1 The Young Avengers

With all the Marvel teams that could be brought into the MCU, the Young Avengers seems at once to be the most likely and the most interesting. With the old guard of heroes either moving on or moving to new and incredible things, it seems incredibly likely that the new generation of heroes to fill in need to arrive in bulk.

Enter the Young Avengers, which can introduce a multitude of unique and interesting characters into the fold very quickly and very effectively. It can expand the ranks of the MCU, offer new and unique plots, and, more importantly, finally introduce mainstream audiences to the sheer unrelenting adorable relationship between Wiccan and Hulkling! Just saying.
