Everyone loves pets, and superheroes are no different. While the most popular pet in comics are cats and dogs, the superhero world is nothing like our own, so you do get some oddballs like dragons, dinosaurs, monkeys, and even in one case, a cow. This doesn't mean that their owners love them any less, and for the most part, these animals are so special because they often share similar abilities to their owners.

These brave creatures even form their own teams, like the Pet Avengers or the Legion of Super Pets. So, based on your zodiac, which pet would you be? (Note: these are superhero pets, meaning they are owned by a comic character, so that discludes anthropomorphic heroes or animal superheroes like Rocket Raccoon or B'dg.)

12 Aries-Lockjaw

Lockjaw is a massive dog that is the pet of the Royal Family of Attilan, the Inhumans. He has teleportation powers that allow the family to travel long distances in the matter of seconds. He also has super canine strength, especially in his jaw, and once bit down on The Thing and the hero couldn't shake him off. Aries are naturally leaders, so it would make sense for Lockjaw to be one, considering he's the leader of the Pet Avengers.

11 Taurus-Bat Cow

Which superhero pet could be more compatible with the bull sign than a cow? While investigating a gang of criminals who were poisoning livestock, Batman and Robin were led to a slaughterhouse. Disturbed by what he saw, Damian announced to his dad that he was now a vegetarian, and affectionately named the cow they were examining Bat-Cow.

10 Gemini-Old Lace

Speaking of telepathic connections, Old Lace is owned by Gert Yorkes, a member of the Runaways. He was genetically engineered in the 87th century by Gert's parents. He was supposed to be part of the inheritance when they died, but the Runaways stumbled upon him while searching the basement. Gemini traits include being gentle, affectionate, and curious, which Old Lace is whenever he is by Gert's side. Just don't get on her bad side.

Thinking his name was Dex-Starr, he was adopted by Atrocitus, the leader of the Red Lantern Corps. Cancer's are seen as loyal and emotional, which adds up considering Dex is a fierce protector of someone who is literally powered by anger.

8 Leo-Zabu

Of course Zabu would be a Leo, he's a jungle cat! Zabu is a prehistoric saber tooth tiger owned by Ka-Zar. He was born in the Savage Land and developed near human intelligence due to a mutation caused by radioactive mists. He came across Kevin Plunder when they were attacked by Savage Land natives. Kevin grew up to become Ka-Zar, and the two protected the Savage Land from anyone who would disturb the natural way of life. Zabu is also a founding member of the Pet Avengers.

7 Virgo-Krypto

Virgos are typically seen as loyal and hardworking, and there's no creature more loyal or hardworking than man's best friend, or in this case: Superman's best friend. Krypto was sent into space as a test for the technology that would send young Kal El to Earth. Krypto's rocket was thrown off course, so he arrived to Earth by the time Kal was a teenager.

She luckily returned as a kitten in Doomsday Clock, and Adrian was able to use her to track Manhattan down in the DC Universe. Cooperative, diplomatic, and social, Bubastis shares the same qualities as her owner, which both would fit into the Libra sign.

5 Scorpio-Ampersand

Yorick and Ampersand develop a close bond, and it's later implied that they survived because of the monkey's feces, which is weird. Scorpios often form lifelong friendships, which makes Ampersand the perfect pet for this spot.

4 Sagittarius-Lockheed

Lockheed was adopted by Kitty Pryde when the X-Men met an alien species known as the Brood. Hours beforehand, Magik had told Kitty a fairy tale, which Lockheed reminded her of. He was eventually stowed away on their ship, and Lockheed became Kitty's pet. He met another dragon named Puff, and the two had baby dragons together. He fits into the Sagittarius sign because it is the last of the fire signs, and obviously the dragon needs to be in the fire sign.

2 Aquarius-Ace The Bathound

Originally introduced in the 40s, Ace the Bathound's most recent origin story involves him being a guard dog of The Joker. The supervillain left him and the other dogs in a ditch to fend for themselves. Each dog was branded with a card symbol, and eventually the ace was the last dog standing. Alfred adopts the dog from the pound, much to Bruce's dismay, but the two eventually bond. Alfred even bought the dog a little mask and affectionately calls him the bat-hound. Aquarius are very humanitarian, and the connection to Ace is through the pound. After adopting him, Alfred purchased the pound, and renamed it the Martha and Thomas Wayne Humane Society.

1 Pisces-Redwing

Redwing Sparrow

Redwing is the pet falcon of Sam Wilson, also known as The Falcon. While Sam shares a bond with most birds he comes across, Redwing is unique.
