Supergirl's World Won't Merge With Arrowverse

"Supergirl's" move from CBS to The CW for Season Two presents the opportunity for the Maid of Might to more easily interact with characters "Arrow," "The Flash" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," collectively referred to as the "Arrowverse." But while Melissa Benoist will be involved in the eagerly awaited four-show crossover this fall, Supergirl's world will remain separate.

Asked whether there are plans to merge Kara's universe, as established in the "Supergirl"/"Flash" crossover, with the one inhabited by Barry Allen, Oliver Queen and the other, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly, "Not for her entire world, but Kara will be traveling from her dimension to our dimension, 'our' being the world that 'The Flash,' 'Arrow' and 'Legends' lives in."

That shoots down the fan theory that the two universes might become one as part of the "Flashpoint" storyline that kicked off the third season of "The Flash," centering on an alternate timeline triggered when Barry Allen traveled through time to prevent his mother's murder. The series introduced the concept of a multiverse in Season Two, with The Flash journeying to Earth-2 as well as Supergirl's world.

Airing Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT, "Supergirl" stars Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant  and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
