Supergirl's DEO Finds Signs of Parasite in 'Changing' Preview

The Department of Extra-Normal Operations discovers a scene right out of "The Thing" in this preview of Monday's episode of "Supergirl."

In the clip, Alex Danvers, Hank Henshaw & Co. investigate a darkened, chaotic lab, where they find several exsanguinated bodies. "It's like something sucked them dry," Alex observes. However, they also locate a survivor -- which we might guess isn't good news, as we know Supergirl's big foe in  this episode is a parasitic alien.

When that parasite drains Kara of her power, it's up to James Olsen to save National City in his debut as the costumed hero The Guardian. However, judging by the earlier promo, this isn't just any power-draining alien parasite, but rather the Parasite, of DC Comics fame.

THE GUARDIAN DEBUTS IN NATIONAL CITY – The Guardian debuts to lend a hand after a parasite alien drains Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) of her power. Mon-El (Chris Wood) considers a less than desirable new career which then leads him to contemplate his motives. Alex (Chyler Leigh) struggles with a new reality. Andrew Kreisberg and Caitlin Parris wrote the script based on the story by Greg Beranti. The episode was directed by Larry Teng.

Airing Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, "Supergirl" stars Melissa Benoist, David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh and Jeremy Jordan.
