Fans of Jeremy Jordan's Winn Schott on Supergirl may be disappointed to learn the character will not be making his return to The CW series this season.

The DCTV series executive producer and co-showrunner Robert Rovner has revealed plans to bring back Winn, following Jordan's departure to appear in the Broadway play American Son, have been pushed to the beginning of Season 5 due to availability and not to interfere with this season's storylines as they move towards the finale.

"We love Jeremy Jordan, we love Winn. It looks like, in terms of our storytelling, something we’d like to do at the beginning of next season as opposed to this season," explained Rovner in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "We have a lot of stories that coincided with his availability at the end of the play. We don’t want to short shrift Jeremy or the character. So, we think it’s something that’s better served in Season 5."

The Season 3 finale of the Arrowverse series had the character join Mon-El and Saturn Girl as they returned to the 31st century while Winn was temporarily replaced at the D.E.O. by Brainiac 5, with Winn promising he would return to his own time eventually.
