SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Hostile Takeover," the recently aired midseason finale of "Supergirl."

UPDATE 12/15/2015 4:30 PM PT: The scene in question has been released online:

Original story: For decades, observers around the world have wondered: Why doesn't anyone realize that Clark Kent is Superman wearing glasses? That question has reentered the public consciousness when CBS' "Supergirl" debuted this past October, and in the recently aired midseason finale "Hostile Takeover," one main character saw through Kara's (Melissa Benoist) bespectacled facade.

Towards the end of the episode, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) -- Kara's boss at her CatCo day job -- revealed that she had figured out Kara's "extraordinary" double life as Supergirl, detailing a list of "coincidences" from the past season (such as Kara disappearing and Supergirl showing, and Kara objecting to the "Supergirl" monkier that Cat gives the superhero) that led her to the conclusion. Though Kara attempted to deny Cat's findings, she was convinced to take off her glasses, fully confirming her boss's suspicions.

Yet before that two could share further about the new revelation, Supergirl speeds off to Lord Technologies, where Kryptonian villain Non (Chris Vance) is on the attack. The episode ends with a mid-air faceoff between the two -- and for more details, check out CBR's full recap of "Hostile Takeover."

"Supergirl" returns with new episodes -- and surely new insight into Kara and Cat's dramatically altered relationship -- Jan. 4 on CBR.
