In less than a month, Supergirl returns to The CW for its fifth season and the network has released its first teaser trailer for the premiere.
The Season 5 premiere episode, titled "Event Horizon," will see Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor confront one another over their newly estranged relationship while a new villain in Midnight arrives to confront the Girl of Steel, unleashing a strange, dark energy attack against the Kryptonian hero.

With Supergirl donning a new suit as she continues to defend National City in the build-up to this season's Arrowverse crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths" while Lena has discovered Kara's secret alter ego, the new villain may be the least of Kara's concerns in Season 5.
