When Supergirl returns for its third season, Team Guardian will be going strong. After forming a small superteam of their own last year, James "Guardian" Olsen and Winslow "Winn" Slott will continue their crusade to clean up the mean streets of National City when Supergirl can't. At Comic-Con International in San Diego, Mehcad Brooks and Jeremy Jordan -- who play James and Winn, respectively -- discussed the future of Team Guardian.

"Yeah, there's plenty more Guardian stuff happening, coming through, so I'm excited about that. It's a lot of fun," Brooks revealed. "I love playing the Guardian. You just feel so powerful. I want to see him get more involved in not just sort of fighting crime, but also fighting with Supergirl and fighting the bigger causes."

"I think everybody in the show is heroic, and I like the fact that I'm also part of the charge where I'm showing that you don't have to have superpowers to be a hero. You take things into your own hands," he added. "I'm not saying that people should be vigilantes. Don't do that. But definitely it's kind of cool to know that you can change things without having been born somewhere else."

However, James may still grapple with the way Guardian inspires fear. "It's the strangest thing, because it's described to me as kind of the same problem Batman has, right? Like, Batman strikes fear into criminals. So does Guardian, but then perhaps the Good Samaritan or the citizen that's being saved is also being made afraid. I guess Bruce has never really reconciled that," he explained with a laugh. "James is kind of a nicer guy, right? More of a people person than Bruce Wayne. So I think that that was important for him to feel like he wasn't doing as much damage as he is good. So I hope we explore that!"

As to whether we'll see more of James' dynamic with Winn, Brooks said, "I hope so, because we have great chemistry and we have a lot of fun doing it and he is my Oracle of sorts, my prime Oracle. So it's good."

"Oh, we have a great time!" Jordan pitched in. "We're both like complete idiots, so we just ham it up all the time and we blow so many takes because we're just being stupid and we try to have a really good time. I don't know! For some reason, we just feed off each other's energy really well. It's kind of a yin-and-yang sort of thing. It's funny, because, you know, if he's being super serious, I'm always in a light mood; it's always the opposite. We kind of bring each other to equilibrium. So we have a good time together."

Nevertheless, Winn's role on Team Guardian may start to take a toll on him in Season 3. "I think eventually his sort of day-and-night sort of DEO/Guardian thing is going to catch up to him and James, because it's a lot to ask of a normal human being to kind of work that much," he teased.

Returning to The CW on Monday, October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
