Supergirl Adds Two New Showrunners; Ali Adler Departs

Supergirl just underwent a behind-the-scenes change-up. Deadline reports that co-creator Ali Adler has stepped down from her role as showrunner, per her overall deal at CBS TV studios. In her place, both Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner will be promoted to executive producer.

Queller and Rovner have been part of Supergirl since the show's first season. Queller joined mid-way through Season 1 as co-executive producer; Rovner, on the other hand, boarded as consulting producer and was later promoted to executive producer for Season 2. Both will act as showrunners for Season 3. They join fellow executive producers Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.

Returning to The CW on Monday, October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
