The second season of "Supergirl" will notably see the Man of Steel transition from being an off-camera presence to an on-screen one, courtesy of actor Tyler Hoechlin. But while Kara is excited to see her cousin, the same can't be said for her adoptive sister Alex.

According to Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg, Alex (Chyler Leigh) will begin to feel overshadowed when Superman soars back into Kara's life.

"Alex has a little bit of a chip on her shoulder about Clark," he explained to Entertainment Weekly. "She loves him and he’s family, but he left Kara on their doorstep. Kara is so excited to see Clark and so excited to be with him, it’s almost a little bit like Alex feels taken for granted, because she’s the family member who’s put in the time. It sets up an interesting conflict between her and Kara in the first couple of episodes."

This won't be the first time Kara and Alex have a disagreement on the series. When Alex killed Kara's Aunt Astra, Hank Henshaw (alter ego of Martian Manhunter) took the blame for Alex. But once Alex confessed to Kara, the lie put a strain on their relationship. The two eventually made up, but Superman's presence looks to be another test for the siblings.

Starring Melissa Benoist, "Supergirl" kicks off its second season Monday, Oct. 10, on The CW.
