A new set photo from filming on The CW's Riverdale Season 2 reveals that one of the network's other superstars paid the production a visit: Melissa Benoist, who stars as Kara Zor-El/Kara Danvers on Supergirl.RELATED: Supergirl: Director Kevin Smith to Return for Season 3The picture shows Benoist -- who is dressed in her Supergirl costume -- sitting with Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper) and Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge) in a booth at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tweeted the image, joking, "Look who dropped in to #Riverdale for a visit! Worlds colliding!! Can a crossover be far behind??"

Supergirl and Riverdale both film in Vancouver and the surrounding area. Benoist visited the set during production of Riverdale Season 1, although she wasn't in costume at the time. Aguirre-Sacasa also joked then about the possibility of a crossover between the two comics-based shows.

Riverdale Season 2 will see Archie on the hunt for revenge as he seeks out the person responsible for shooting his father Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) in the Season 1 finale. Season 2 will also spell trouble for Betty and Veronica’s friendship.

Supergirl Season 3 will draw from the World Killer storyline. Odette Annabele (Cloverfield) will play the villain Reign, a biological weapon designed by Supergirl's father, Zor-El.

Returning October 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Riverdale stars K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy and Casey Cott as Kevin Keller.

The third season of Supergirl is set to debut on October 9, 2017.
