This is "My Name It Ain't Nothin'," a look at when comic books guest star celebrities, but their names are changed so as to avoid any legal problems.

Today, based on a suggestion from reader Fred K., I take a look at the time that Supergirl had to solve Ray Bradbury's abduction!

Julius Schwartz, the then-editor of the Superman titles, was Ray Bradbury's first science fiction agent and Schwartz was acquaintances with a lot of those writers, which explains why Isaac Asmiov also has appeared in this feature during Schwartz's time on the Superman titles.

Here's Ray Bradbury a few years before Superman Family #198 came out...

The story, written by Jack C. Harris and drawn by Don Heck and Joe Giella, opens with Supergirl awaiting a flight carrying famed author Brad Reynolds (Ray Bradbury) into town...

However, shockingly enough, Reynolds/Bradbury VANISHES!

Reynolds/Bradbury's publicity manager suggests that perhaps it was an alien abduction. I love how Supergirl dismisses it. You get that YOU'RE an alien, right, Supergirl?

There continues to be a number of mishaps at Reynolds/Bradbury-related events. None of them life-threatening...

Supergirl then realizes that the PR guy IS Reynolds/Bradbury! She grabs him as he tries to stop an electrical fire at his performance (that he set himself)...

It turns out that he was nervous about whether the fans would still be interested in him, so he did all of these stunts to get attention....

Luckily for him, the fans are still into him!

It's interesting to see Bradbury depicted as not being all that famous, as I don't think Bradbury was ever NOT famous since he broke out.

Thanks for the suggestion, Fred!
