The CW's Supergirl is getting a new look for its upcoming fifth season. The Supergirl panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego revealed the DC hero's new super suit ahead of the Season 5 debut.

Conceptualized by Supergirl costume designer Victoria Auth and created by Ironhead Studios and Bill Hargates Costumes, the new costume follows the evolution of super suits in executive producer Greg Berlanti’s “Arrowverse,” which has seen redesigns of both the Arrow and Flash suits in recent years.

“We’re beyond excited to update Supergirl’s iconic suit," executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said regarding Kara's new look. "We think her new image is strong and powerful. We hope the fans are as excited about it as we are.”

Additional news on the fifth season includes the additions of new series regulars Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars) as the DC character Andrea Rojas, aka Acrata, and Staz Nair (Game of Thrones) as the original character William Dey, a renowned reporter.

Returning Sunday, October 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers.
