Supergirl star Melissa Benoist, 31, and husband Chris Wood, 32, announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy named Huxley Robert Wood.

Benoist, who plays the title character on The CW show, posted an announcement on her Instagram, saying that Huxley had arrived "a few weeks ago." The photo is a closeup of her infant son’s hand. "This little boy is everything," she said.

Wood posted the same photo on his Instagram with a more humorous, but equally as heartfelt, caption. "No it's probably none of your business xo brb see you in 18 years," he said.

The couple married on Sept. 1 2019 and announced Benoist’s pregnancy in March 2020. The show’s production of Season 6 was delayed in order to accommodate her pregnancy and subsequent maternity leave. Wood left Supergirl as a series regular after the Season 3 finale. However, he recently returned for the show’s 100th episode.

It was announced recently that Season 6 of Supergirl would be the last, with 20 more episodes set to air before the series ends forever. Season 6 is expected to begin airing between April and June 2021. Production for the final season is set to begin sometime during Sept. 2020.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers.
