After a long time of harboring hate for Kara Danvers, friend-turned-enemy-turned-friend again Lena Luthor will be on better terms with the hero during Supergirl's final season, according to co-showrunner Jessica Queller.

"Lena is going to become a more integral part of the Superfriends this season than ever before," Queller told EW. "So I think that's going to be really satisfying and have emotional resonance for her because she's always kind of felt like an outsider, not just with Kara's secret but with the whole group. Now she is going to be a full on insider, so that will change the dynamic for Lena and the group."

Introduced in Season 2, Lena Luthor comes to National City to redeem the Luthor name, rebranding the family enterprise as L-Corp. She swiftly becomes an ally of Supergirl and a close friend of her alter ego Kara Danvers, but in Season 4's finale, Lena's brother Lex reveals Supergirl and Kara are one and the same, spurring a hurt Lena, angry at being misled, to become Supergirl's antagonist. Lena frequently has her brother and her mother Lillian try to persuade her to join their schemes, but she doesn't trust either of them and often goes her own way.

Kara apologizes several times for the deception and tries to make amends to Lena, who initially refuses to accept. By the end of Season 5, however,  they begin a tentative reconciliation.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Nicole Maines as Dreamer and Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5. Season 6 premieres March 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
